2022 will be a landmark year for psychedelic medicine stocks.
That’s according to one of the newer members of the Legacy Research team, Mike “Zappy” Zapolin.
He’s spent the last 15 years researching the therapeutic powers of psychedelics.
And he’s helped celebrities such as Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez and former NBA star Lamar Odom conquer depression and addiction using psychedelic compounds such as ayahuasca and ibogaine.
Research backs these and other psychedelic compounds as potential wonder drugs for treating addiction, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
That’s why this week, you’ll hear from Zappy on why he’s so bullish on psychedelic medicine stocks this year.

Tom Beal: What does the metaverse have to do with psychedelic medicine stocks?
My name is Tom Beal, host of The Weekly Pulse, where it’s our goal to help you grow and protect your wealth in the upcoming weeks, months, and years.
Today, I’m joined by the editor of Legacy Inner Circle, Chris Lowe.
So, Chris, for today’s conversation, what’s on the agenda? What do you have in store for us today?
Chris Lowe: Tom, today, I want to turn to one of the big themes on our radar, which is psychedelic medicine stocks.
But before we get to that, I want to put something very important on members’ agendas. It’s coming up tonight at 8 p.m. ET. It’s Teeka Tiwari’s first big event of the year. It’s a live event.
Teeka is going to be revealing his first free recommendation around one of the hottest topics right now on our radars here at Legacy Research. And that is the metaverse. If folks don’t know what that is, they’re going to hear all about it tonight from Teeka.
All I can say right now is it’s the next evolution of the internet. And there’s a huge amount of excitement around the metaverse, not only here at Legacy, but out in the world. There’s a lot of venture capital money flowing in. A lot of big things happening there.
Think about being able to invest in the early days of the internet, back in the mid-1990s. That’s what the opportunity is here.
If you haven’t signed up for Teeka’s big metaverse event tonight at 8 p.m. ET, you can sign up here.
Tom: Like you said, Chris, the metaverse is the new frontier. So many people are talking about this. The buzz is high. So I’m super-excited to hear what Teeka’s take is on this, and the direction he points us in to be so far ahead of the curve.
This is literally like being way back in the 1990s, talking about the internet. Is this a fad that’s going to pass? Look, it turned into not just a fad, it turned into a whole change of our landscape. It changed how we do things.
That’s exactly what I foresee the metaverse being. So I’m super-excited to hear what Teeka’s take is on that tonight.
Chris: Me too, Tom. I think it’s going to be one of the most fascinating events of the year. It’s one of those themes we’re going to be talking about a lot. I’m really looking forward to that.
But for today’s Weekly Pulse, I’m opening up another big theme that’s on our radar. It’s another controversial thing. It’s another very new thing, Tom. It’s psychedelic medicine.
Now, I don’t know if you’re very familiar with this. It includes drugs and medicine formulated using things like mushroom psilocybin, the active ingredient in what’s known as magic mushrooms. It also involves ketamine, MDMA (also known as ecstasy), and ayahuasca, which is a psychotropic medicine, native to South America.
All of these things are highly controversial. A lot of them are used in the party scene. And people might have heard of some of these being used in recreational formats. But the amazing thing about this is that these psychedelic compounds also have extremely powerful medicinal qualities. They are being used to help people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A lot of veterans are using MDMA, for example, to revisit trauma and get over PTSD. Psilocybin mushrooms are being used to treat treatment-resistant depression – depression that doesn’t get better with regular pharmaceutical drugs.
Mike “Zappy” Zapolin is an expert in the field. He has spent the last 15 years researching psychedelic medicines and their therapeutic powers.
Last summer, Teeka brought him onto the Legacy Research team to guide readers of one of his newest advisories, Palm Beach Special Opportunities, through this fascinating, exciting, and profitable new space.
Tom, I don’t know what your take on psychedelic medicines is. I know a lot of people are quite resistant to the idea, simply because these things have been stigmatized a lot by the government. Where do you stand on this?
Tom: I personally haven’t used any of those. But I have some friends who have shared their experiences with ayahuasca and other mind-expanding types of drugs.
And we’re talking about how to grow and protect your wealth. And this is a brand-new, formerly illegal situation, which now, is going to be legal to help people with PTSD, depression, and anxiety. All of the things that, if we really look at the mirror of America and the world, a lot of people are facing. A lot of people are dealing with.
So, if we can grow our wealth by helping others, that fulfills what I feel is the platinum rule of success. You can have everything in life you want if you simply help others get what they want. Finding that company who helps them help others is a win-win situation.
So I’m pretty excited to hear about this. And I foresee it being a big topic in 2022.
Chris: Absolutely, Tom. I think you’re right. And that is core to what Zappy does. So let’s just hit play on that interview I recorded earlier with Zappy and let folks take a look.
Chris Lowe: Nice to see you again, Zappy. How are you doing?
Mike “Zappy” Zapolin: You too. I’m doing great. As usual, I’m in my car, out on the road.
Today, I’m in Miami. I’m headed for Los Angeles this weekend. I’ve been in Austin, New York, and Boston, just running around.
It’s like a golden moment where everybody’s stationary. People that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to see, you can just hop over there. Maybe you’ve got to be socially distanced and sit six feet apart, but people are available.
Things are moving so quickly in this industry. I feel like if I don’t go out there and really see what’s happening, I’m left just reading papers.
I feel better about the things that I’m reporting, if I am reporting first-person.
Chris: It’s great to have that depth of knowledge for the readers.
Something struck me while I was reading the recent Palm Beach Special Opportunities issue you and Teeka Tiwari put out. [Paid-up subscribers can catch up here.]
You said 2021 blew you away, in terms of the psychedelic renaissance.
For folks who are really new to this, what is the psychedelic renaissance? And what was it that blew you away last year?
Zappy: We’ve been in such a mental health crisis because of the coronavirus. We were in a crisis before the coronavirus. We had a suicide epidemic, addiction, depression, anxiety… Then COVID hits and people got PTSD on top of that.
In the past, we’ve treated that with talk therapy and antidepressants.
Not only has that not worked, but it’s probably made things worse.
People have started to realize that a lot of scientific research has been done on things that have been taboo for decades.
Cannabis is a good example. We were told it was really bad. But it turns out that there’s some medicinal value.
I think people said, “Wait a minute. We see medicinal value in these psychedelics for mental health.”
If it was about anything other than mental health right now, if it was about pain or bodily functions, I don’t think this renaissance would be happening.
It’s a real mental health solution. For that reason, the smartest and wealthiest people on the planet – the people who are in charge of other people’s lives – are turning to this and saying, “Yes, this is real. I have to pay attention to it. I’m not going to treat it the way it’s been treated in the past.”
Over in the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is talking about legalizing or fast-tracking psilocybin to deal with the mental health crisis there.
Here in the United States, more and more states are coming on board. Since you and I talked last, Detroit, Michigan came on board. A midwestern state came on board.
So it’s not just the coastal states that are coming on board.
And the psychedelic medicine sector has received major funding since the last time we spoke.
It’s funny. I attribute a lot of it to the rise in crypto that happened over the summer. Things were just so hot that the wealthy crypto folks started to fund psychedelic research with organizations like the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), Johns Hopkins, and the National Institute of Health (NIH).
For the first time in 50 years, folks are putting dollars behind research into psychedelics for the treatment of mental health disorders.
That’s the renaissance. Public opinion of what this can be, medically, is moving so much faster than the potential concerns. And the old paradigm is just fading away.
The inventor and architect Buckminster Fuller said, “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
I think that’s what’s happening here. People aren’t saying, “SSRIs, talk therapy, and what we were doing doesn’t work. Let’s tear it down and do nothing.”
They’re saying, “Let’s erect this new paradigm that really works and that there’s a lot of support for. And that can then replace the flawed model we had before.”
