Tom Beal: There’s a massive upgrade coming to the internet soon. It’s based on blockchain technology that’s going to change everything, including ways to grow and protect your wealth.
My name is Tom Beal, host of The Weekly Pulse, where we break down the biggest wealth-growth story of the week.
I’m here today with the editor of Legacy Inner Circle, Chris Lowe. Chris, how do we kick off today’s conversation?
Chris Lowe: Tom, this week, we’re talking about blockchain and how it’s going to completely upgrade the internet as we know it.
This is a really exciting way to look at blockchain. A lot of folks think about blockchain in terms of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. It’s very much associated in their minds with currency transactions.
I just got off a Zoom call with tech investing legend Jeff Brown. He’s on his way to the Legacy Research offices in Florida to put the final touches on his livestream event, which is going live a couple of hours after this video drops.

It was a really fascinating conversation with Jeff, because of the way he framed it – as an upgrade to the internet. Something that is going to change the way the internet works, basically.
One of the things he talks about is that it’s going to be a lot more censorship-resistant. That’s because blockchains are decentralized. There are no choke points or middleman… no CEO, Jack Dorsey, or Mark Zuckerberg, who can censor what we see and hear online. So that’s one very exciting part of it.
The other thing Jeff talked about was that blockchains are also a tamper-proof record. They can keep tamper-proof records of everything from currency transactions to the provenance of goods.
One of the things Jeff put on my radar is that Amazon, the e-commerce giant, has a blockchain patent that allows it to figure out the provenance of all the goods it sells on its platform. This is huge.
Here’s a clip of the recording of the call I had with Jeff, where he talks about how blockchain is going to impact the internet as we know it.
Jeff Brown: The word you used – blockchains, plural – is really the most important part. There are so many blockchains out there, it’s not just the bitcoin blockchain. One mistake people make is thinking that there is just one.
The good news is that means there’s that much more investment opportunity. Bitcoin was just the first. It was essentially a safe store of value, something that could be transferred on a peer-to-peer basis. And the transfers or transactions could be immutable. In other words, they can’t be changed. That was the revolution of the bitcoin blockchain.
And of course, another big one that so many people have heard of is the Ethereum blockchain. Its digital asset is ether. That’s the cryptocurrency.
The big revolution that the Ethereum blockchain brought to the industry was the ability to have smart contracts. So for example, you would lend some ether to someone at a certain interest rate for a certain period of time.
You can encapsulate all that simply into a smart contract. It all happens completely automatically. You don’t need to do anything about it. And when that specified term in the contract is up, all of the money comes back.
The smart contract can be used for anything from insurance to lending to gaming applications. So that was a big change in the industry.
There are thousands of blockchains being built. Each one has its advantages that can be used for different kinds of applications. And almost all of these have their own digital asset, their cryptocurrency related to these blockchains.
We’ve only just scratched the surface of the industry. We’ve only seen 10% of what’s going to happen, in what I consider to be the next generation of the internet and the next generation of financial services.
We have more than 90% to look forward to, as we look out over the course of the next 5 to 10 years.

Tom: That’s what I love about you, Chris, and the experts that you bring to the table. This explains it in a manner I had never heard before. I thought blockchain was cryptocurrencies. What Jeff just shared opened my eyes to how it’s actually going to change the internet.
So I’m super-excited that you and the experts of the Legacy Research Group, here at The Weekly Pulse and inside Legacy Inner Circle, are opening my eyes to these where-the-puck-is-going activities that help me understand the possibilities of how big this really is.
So thank you for bringing Jeff to my and the viewers’ attention, and for all that you do every week.
Chris: Yeah, Tom, and remember, we’re going to be sharing the full-length video of my conversation with Jeff. It’s 25 minutes long. We only shared a short clip here. But I’ll be sharing that in full with paid-up members of Legacy Inner Circle, which is our deep-dive, big ideas advisory. That will come out on Friday. So if you are a member of that, you’ll be seeing that on Friday.
[If you would like to become a member of Legacy Inner Circle, just click here.]
Tom: This Weekly Pulse video is being released just hours before Jeff goes live. You don’t want to miss this. We saw the tip of the iceberg. You and I, and those who are Legacy Inner Circle members, will see the full video that you did with him on Friday.
But everybody gets an opportunity to see him explain this more in-depth. Just click here to register. You want to be there, because when Jeff talks, people who are looking to grow and protect their wealth listen.
So I would recommend folks participate in that event. What do you think?
Chris: Absolutely, Tom. This is Jeff Brown, the tech investing legend, moving into crypto in a major way for the first time. And he is pumped. I’ve rarely seen him this excited about an opportunity. He’s been waiting for years for this industry to mature to the point where he’s happy recommending it to ordinary folks.
You know, this was the Wild West several years ago. Now, there were some big returns on offer then. But investments were very, very volatile.
Interestingly, Jeff thinks this industry is maturing to the point where regular folks can get involved. He’s not saying there’s not going to be any volatility. But this is a really good time, in his opinion, to get involved.
Just hearing Jeff talk about these subjects was really enlightening – a lot of stuff I didn’t understand about blockchain.
So if folks watching this want to get the inside story on what’s happening with blockchain, where Jeff sees the big opportunities, and why he’s so excited about blockchain right now, they should definitely sign up. Jeff’s event goes live in a couple of hours. He’s really pumped. It’s going to be a really eye-opening livestream.
Tom: Totally agree. And as always, Chris, thank you for expanding my mind, expanding the minds of The Weekly Pulse viewers, to help me and them grow and protect our wealth, by bringing the insights from the Legacy Research Group, experts like Jeff and others.
Chris: Thanks, Tom.
